Never
Underestimate Them: The Story of Disabled People
By:
Ms. Musa, S. N. N. & Ms. Shariffuddin, N. L.
Imagine being born without arms and legs. No arms to
hug the one you love, no legs to move around and no way to lift or carry
things. How would you feel if you were one of them? As we all know, “World-wide,
disabled people have experienced social and economic discrimination,
segregation and exclusion” (Turmusani, 2003, p. 21). Very few employers hire
disabled people because they considered disabled people as a liability more than
an asset in the organization. Disabled people should be treated just like
normal people because they have feelings too. However, we do not need to fear
about this matter anymore. Nowadays, people with disabilities are able to live
their lives like other normal human beings. In fact, some of them are more
successful in their lives than ordinary people. The extraordinary people who
have survived in their life even they are not perfect like others are Nick
Vujicic, Oscar Pictorius and Qian Hong Yan.
